If that describes you, then you are probably doing everything you can to get back to work.     The state of Georgia has free web sites that can help you get temporary relief as well as find a job. Just go online to www.dol.state.ga.us and access the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) site. Start by finding out about unemployment insurance. To file for Georgia unemployment benefits, you need to visit one of their Career Centers. Use the web site to quickly find the phone number and an address of a location near you.

    While you are at the site, take a look at the Job Search Handbook. It is an online workshop designed to be used as a guide to help you seek a job. The guide helps you develop a plan to speed up your job search. It is a valuable resource to help you sell your skills to employers and overcome the challenges you face.

    Use the website at www.dol.state.ga.us to review information about upcoming job fairs and employer seminars.
